Here is some inside reveals of some scenes. I know this really isn’t showing much, but it gives you a bit more of the story. Next week we are dealing with 3D models and compositing. See you again soon.

Strangest Baptism Animation Concept.

October 7, 2008 · 1 Comment

I am not really sure what I was thinking. I might take this idea somewhere else. There are these tall 3d stone looking towers with text on it. I like the environment look and I really think it will look cool if it were to be animated. Anyway, here it is, take a look.

Sun Stand Still Series Promo

September 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

We had 1.5 days to knock out a promo for our “sun stand still” series. I had Chaz, a friend and co-worker, stand in for this shoot. The hardest part was getting a matte painting and a burning sun in the time I had to work on this. So with some heavy color effects to blend in the empty spots, I think it came out pretty good. Chaz did a good job and it was another long day in After Effects. (more…)

Cornerstone’s ‘The Loop’ Show

August 30, 2008 · 2 Comments

‘The Loop’ will replace the video announcements currently called ‘verbals’. The idea behind this approach is that it will break each announcement into distinguishable sections so people can comprehend what is being said better.

Set Extensions/Matte Painting pt2

August 27, 2008 · 2 Comments

The set extension I did yesterday was my 10 minute version. I wanted to go home and really get into a complicated version. I ended up spending too much time on some ideas and never got around to animating the results. Oh well. Here is one of my favs.

Set Extension – After Effects

August 26, 2008 · 4 Comments

During one of our ‘creative breaks’ I filmed josh and promise kicking the ball around. We do not have a strange gate, brick building or mountain behind those walls. I added them later. It is really hard to add extensions behind objects and usually you plan green screen spots to make the process easier. This procedure will be heavily used in the Flood Short Film.

Matte Painting – Flood Movie

August 13, 2008 · 2 Comments

Ok, I knew that matte painting was hard, but I really didn’t know how tedious it could be until I tried one. I learned a lot of lessons with this first attempt and I am ready to get started for real now. I am open for comments and suggestions… Thanks for taking a look.

Video Animations / Titles

August 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I had to make a few quick animations for FCC. The first one is the title of their announcement show called “the Advance”. Loretta Cooper is keyed out for either a 3D studio or a virtual world serving information via animations or backgrounds. Here is the title part and I’ll include some other pieces inside.

Downloadable Art Packages

Downloadable Art Packages

I think the majority of Go Media’s resources cost a little bit of cash, but it is very extensive and there are some free products as well. I have used a great deal of their vectors and have been very pleased with the quality. I would give their site a high score for just easy use and quick purchasing, no crazy up-sale tactics involved. I believe they even have some motion graphics available.
